What does the Appliance Protection Plan cover?
Accidental Damage & Liquid Damage (ADLD)
This coverage protects your item from any type of damage that happens unintentionally or by external means. Here are some sample cases based on previous customer concerns:

Tumagilid ang stand ng refrigerator at natumba kaya napaangat ang pinto at hindi na nasasara.

Extended Warranty (EW)
Extended warranty protects your item from the same defects and failures as those covered originally by the manufacturer's basic warranty after the manufacturer's warranty period has expired. Note that big appliances may have separate warranties for particular parts such as compressors and boards.
Extended Warranty always starts at the end of the manufacturer's warranty period, providing 1 extra year of coverage against malfunctions or breakdown. If any defect or failure happens during this extended period of coverage, please follow the service process described here on our webpage or on My Home Credit App.

IMPORTANT NOTE: What if the item started to malfunction or broke down during the manufacturer's warranty period (typically within 1 year from date of purchase)?
No worries, you are covered by the manufacturer. Look for your item's manufacturer warranty certificate or the contact information on the producer's website (e.g. Condura service center, Samsung service center, etc.) and simply follow their guidelines.
Situations not included in the coverage
On the other hand, there are a few cases excluded from the coverage, such as the following:

Item is damaged intentionally (e.g. punching the television out of rage)

Item gets lost or stolen

Item is broken due to irresponsible use (e.g. using microwave oven to heat up aluminum foil causing it to blow up)
Here is the list of all coverage exclusions:
- Any defect that is subject to manufacturer recall.
- Breakage caused by violation of the Manufacturer’s Warranty terms.
- Breakdown or malfunction arising during the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Commercial use or communal use for multi-family housing.
- Cosmetic issues on the item, such as paint cracks, dents, or scratches.
- Damage or breakage resulting from negligence, illegal use, abusive use, or other forms of misuse.
- Damages and breakdowns arising from acts of nature.
- Damages and malfunctions resulting from fire, power surge, terrorism, war, or civil commotions.
- Damages arising from any intentional action on the item including incorrect installation or setup.
- Damages arising from overload, battery leakage, experiments, or tests.
- Defects and on-site service charges not covered by the manufacturer’s original written warranty.
- Delay confiscation, destruction, or requisition by authority as contraband, stolen good, or due to illegal acts.
- External faults such as wiring, electrical connection, or plumbing.
- Failures caused by applying incorrect voltage.
- Item gets lost, stolen, or any form of physical loss.
- Malfunctions caused by software or app downloads.
- Malicious damage, corrosion, animal and insect infestation, and abuse.
- Nuclear reaction, radiation, or radioactive contamination.
- egular wear and tear or gradual deterioration of the appliance/electronic item.
- Reimbursement of repair costs incurred by the customer from a third-party service provider.
- Replacement of consumable items or accessories such as bulbs, belts, batteries, chargers, headphones, remote controls, and cords.
- Replacement or support for data, software, and music.
- Routine maintenance, inspection, or cleaning.
- Service requests where no defect is found or noted.
- Service requests where we discover deception, fraud, and illegal use of the item.
- Shipping charges and damages from removal and relocation of the item.
- Unauthorized modifications made to the appliance, altered serial numbers or repairs performed by non-authorized repairers.
Coverage will be immediately and automatically terminated in the following events. In such case, no refund will be given to customer:
- When the serial number of the home appliance/electronics is removed, obliterated, or altered.
- If repairs have been conducted by unauthorized repair centers or person at any point during the coverage period.
- When customer has exhausted the repair limit amount of the coverage which is equal to the price of the appliance/electronic item

What to do when something happens to your device?
Simply notify our service provider! You will find your Plan details, including the service provider, on My Home Credit App. We also send all necessary documents to your e-mail immediately after your purchase. To file a service request, follow these 4 easy steps!
Get in touch with your provider immediately after the incident. Notification should be done within 48 hours from the moment the item started malfunctioning, got damaged or broke down. Please be ready with your Home Credit Loan Account number and the item's Serial Number during the notification process. You can easily obtain your appliance's Serial Number by checking the back of your appliance, the receipt purchase, or sales invoice.
In some cases, the provider may ask you to send additional supporting documents such as a copy of the Appliance Protection contract, Sales Invoice or Receipt for verification purposes.

- Find the e-mail from Home Credit sent immediately after purchase and open the Certificate of Coverage document.
- Call Home Credit Customer Service Hotline at (02) 7753 5711 (Globe) or (02) 8424 6611 (PLDT).
*If your provider is LEX Services, the Certificate of Coverage document is sent by LEX Services to your e-mail within three to five business days from the date of your appliance purchase.

Note: Once your service request is submitted, all you need to do is wait for the provider’s SMS, email or call confirming the repair. The confirmation is typically sent within 24-48 hours.
Once your service request is approved, the provider will assess if the item can be repaired on-site, must be taken to an authorized service center for repair, or is due for replacement.
If the item can be repaired on-site, the provider will ask your availability for the repair. An authorized repairer will visit your provided address within the same day or typically within 48 hours after the approval of the service request. On-site repairs typically apply to big appliances with simple damages or malfunctions, and repairs are usually resolved within 1 day depending on the severity of the issue. If the on-site service does not successfully repair the item, it will be scheduled for pull out within 48 hours and be taken to the nearest service center.
If the item must be repaired at a service center or must be replaced, the damaged appliance or electronic item will be picked up on the same day or typically within 48 hours after the service request approval.
The courier will contact you to confirm the pick-up schedule, check or correct the address, and provide an alternate number if available. The promptness of the courier may be affected by factors such as distance, location, and weather conditions.
You will be notified by the provider via SMS, call or e-mail once you’re repaired or replaced appliance is ready for delivery.
Your item will be delivered back to you typically within 1 to 3 business days after pick-up in Metro Manila. For Greater Manila, Cebu, and Davao, delivery is typically within 5 to 7 business days. For other provinces including remote areas, delivery may take up to 20 business days depending on your location.
As a plus, the repaired item is given to you with free repair warranty valid for 1 to 3 months depending on the type of repair!
How can I cancel the Protection?
You can cancel the coverage anytime within the loan period by calling Home Credit Customer Service number, (02) 7753 5711.
However, please be advised that if you cancel 5 days or less before the due date, the appliance protection cost will still be included in your upcoming monthly payment bill and will be removed starting on the next due date.
